Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported, 5-day intensive or less intensive 8 sessions plus half day silent retreat, training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. MSC has been developed from the ground-breaking research of Kristen Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer. The three key components of mindful self-compassion are self-kindness, a sense of common humanity, and balanced, mindful awareness. Research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, less anxiety depression and stress as well as the maintenance of healthy habits
Aims of the Mindful Self-Compassion Intensive (MSC):
- Learn skills of self-compassion, mindfulness and loving kindness in daily life and formal meditation
- Motivate oneself with kindness rather than criticism
- Heal difficult relationships
- Transform destructive emotions
- Learn how to be present, here now, with kindness
